I have updated and refreshed several of Pitkin’s existing titles, amongst them: King Henry VIII; Anne Boleyn; Queen Elizabeth I; Mary Queen of Scots; King Arthur; The Normans; The Black Death; Oxford Colleges; Canterbury city guide; Liverpool city guide. I have also edited dozens of books of this type for Pitkin.

Children’s Books

I have written a series of illustrated children’s books for a client, working in collaboration with illustrator Sophie Hill of Design Ark. This involved inventing and bringing to life a character, Barry Bear.

New for summer 2021, and written exclusively for the New Forest Heritage Centre, is the The New Forest Kids’ Activity Book. Piper the New Forest pony leads children on a journey of discovery, with fun facts about the Forest and lots of activities along the way. Available only from the Heritage Centre in Lyndhurst or to order direct from them: The New Forest Kids' Activity Book - New Forest Heritage Trust

Magazines, Newsletters, Brochures

For five years I researched, wrote and edited the quarterly In Newbury magazine, and wrote a monthly newsletter for Newbury BID (Business Improvement District).

I have been Print Editor for the prestigious international Newbury Spring Festival, writing and producing both their sales brochure and souvenir guide.

Blogs and Websites

I have written blogs for two BIDs (Business Improvement Districts) and Luna Boutique, and provided copy for websites for clients of Apple Print & Creative.

Education

During careers in the Training Department at Cheltenham & Gloucester Building Society/Lloyds TSB and Basingstoke College of Technology, I was responsible for writing, editing and producing a variety of distance learning materials. As well as many paper-based solutions, I also wrote scripts for audio, video and computer-based training
